You Have Arrive to Your Interview

· Breath!

· When the parents open the door smile, introduce yourself (for example): "Hello my name is Rebecca Stewart, I am here for my 2:00 interview," and shake their hand.

· Sit up straight, yet be comfortable (as much as possible).

· Look the parents and children in the eye when speaking to them.

· Always be positive, open, and honest

· Smile, Smile, Smile!

Interview Tip #1 from VIP Nannies Inc., Household Staffing

For the next few days, we will be providing daily tips for nannies and household employee's, when it comes to the interview process...

"You Never Get a Second Chance to Make a First Impression."

TIP #1 "Appearance"

• You are a nanny. Dress like one! Slacks with a nice blouse, a knee-length dress, clean closed-toe shoes. Remember (depending upon the age of the kids, you may want to get down on the floor and play). Keep it modest, simple, and clean.
• Presentation. Always arrive fresh, clean, and well put together. People notice details, make sure your hair is clean, brushed, finger nails are clean and groomed.
• Do not wear acrylic nails.
• Do not wear perfume or scented lotions. Many people have allergies to these products.
• Do not heels over 2 inches or flip-flops.
• Cover any visible tattoos.

Happy Father's Day to all the dad's and grandpa's in the world today!

One of our VIP mom's said, "Our legacy to our kids will be our "presence" NOT "presents"! Let's enjoy the pampering but understand and be reminded of the impact..."

I am blessed and honored to say I have the BEST father EVER! When I was little my dad was my soccer coach, as I got older he became my basketball coach and took me to my first Laker game. :) When I reached high school my dad was the #1 Team Parent, taking the team to out of town tournaments, coordinating fundraisers, and attending every game possible. In college my dad was extremely supportive and always available to talk when I called home. In my adult years my dad has been extremely supportive of my marriage, my career choices, and the decision to own and operate VIP Nannies Inc., Household Staffing! My dad has always been a part of my life and I attribute who I am today by the PRESENCE of my dad in my life. Enough bragging! I Love you dad and wish you a very, very Happy Father's Day!!

Live-Out or Live-in Housekeeper/Cook Needed in Santa Monica

New mommy is looking for a seasoned, professional, live-out or live-in housekeeper/cook. The position will start in September, hours will be Monday-Friday 11:00-8:00 with the flexibility to stay over-night 1-2 nights a week. 2010 NOTY-Nanny of the Year

Congratulations to Greta Schraer of Ohio who was crowned 2010 NOTY, Nanny of the Year, at the International Nanny Association Conference this year in San Francisco. Greta gave an amazing speech at the conference that caused many of us to shed a few tears. Greta is passionate about her job and her profession. The family she works for, and any family she will work for in the future will be more than blessed to have her as their nanny!! Here is a small bio about Greta:

Greta has both a bachelor's and master's degree in Theology. She began her nanny career in 1992, working as a full time, part time, temporary and summer nanny over those years. As a nanny in the Cincinnati area, Greta found that there was a need for the nannies in the area to feel connected and so she began CincyNanny, a website and blog giving the local nannies their own community and families resources they can use.

Greta's current position is as the full time nanny of triplet boys. Jessica Shelly said, "She makes it a priority to see that not just the boys are taken care of, but that our family unit is supported and encouraged." Their family has an inside joke - when a challenging situation arises they think WWGD? or What Would Greta Do?

International Nanny Association Conference

VIP Nannies & Household Staffing had a blast at the International Nanny Association (INA) conference this past weekend in San Francisco, CA. It was fun to reunite with old friends and meet new ones. The INA conference is for nanny agency owners AND nannies. If you have not attended a conference I highly suggest going next year in 2011!

Care Walk of Burbank Coming May 1st

Team VIP Nannies will be participating in the 3rd Annual Care Walk of Burbank on May 1, 2010. Every few months VIP Nannies around Los Angeles participate in a 5k/10k to support local organizations. This past year we have support:
